Unofficial notes from the FESA board
The intent of this page is to provide a very brief summary of items discussed, and resolutions passed at the meetings that are suitable for public distribution. While not all information discussed at the FESA Executive meetings can be released publicly, and the official 'Minutes' take a little more time to confirm and prepare (as a legal requirement) this area will contain some of the highlights - paraphrased by the Web team. Once 'Official' minutes are available to the general public, they will be placed here.
Feburary 2006
February 6th 2006
- First meeting attended by new elected Northern Lights member (Greg Scratchley)
- Discussed and determined layout of new casting platform, and agreed to go-ahead with constructin as soon as possible with the county. Platform will be U shaped extending from the beach to the RIGHT of the current dock - minimizing impact to boat launch area. Additionally the dock will extend almost 40 feet to the water, and therefore provide 60-80 feet of back cast area, ideal for teaching flycasting.
- Brief discussion regarding Kirk Lake as a suitable candidate. Found lake to be very shallow - will pass to SRD for discussion. Another privately owned lake area exists to the east of the city. Greg and Arnie to contact owner, propose opportunity.
- Website owner identified (Greg)
- Donation sign / Box for Muir agreed upon and work to commence before open of season.
- Nomination materials for Walk of Fame discussed. We will arrange package for those wishing to nominate an individual.
- Stocking for Muir Lake. In light of concern regarding growth rates and possible stunting, the executive voted to reduce the overall stocking number by over 60%. 1500 fish of hatchery size will be introduced after ice off in 2006 in hopes of eliminating any possible stunting due to over population and to ensure there is an age class for this season. Please note: there is no scientific data to support ANY theory. This is trial and error, and a learning experience.
