With the success of Muir Lake to the west of the city of Edmonton, FESA is actively working toward the creation of another delayed harvest fishery to the East of the city. The intention for the Eest lake would be similar to the work at Muir, by creating public access to a fishery - with educational information, a place to learn and a location suitable for low teaching, demonstrating and practicing 'low impact' angling techniques.
FESA is currently investigating several bodies of water to the East of Edmonton that are currently devoid of game fish, and suitable for development. Once a waterbody has been identified - more information will be available here.
If you know of a waterbody - currently privately held, or a provincially managed waterbody with no game fish - please let FESA know by contacting the webmaster.
